AI-Powered 3D Terrain for Wargames & RPGs
The AI terrain generator for D&D, Warhammer, and tabletop wargames. Describe your vision, get print-ready 4-color terrain — no painting required. Modular battlefields, dungeons, and scatter terrain for Bambu Lab AMS.
How AI Terrain Generation Works — 3 Steps
No 3D modeling skills required. Just describe, refine, and print.
Learn how our AI color matching worksDescribe Your Terrain
Describe your vision — 'ruined dwarven forge' or 'sci-fi bunker complex' — and our AI generates modular STL files ready to print and connect.
Connect to Bambu Lab
We sync with your Bambu Lab Cloud to see which filaments are loaded. Your terrain is auto-optimized for your current spool setup.
Print in 4 Colors
Download your STL files and print. Modular terrain pieces arrive ready to arrange into infinite battlefield configurations.
What You Get
Built for people who print minis at 2 AM and argue about base sizes.
Text to Terrain
Type "ruined dwarven forge" and get a print-ready 3MF with 4 colors mapped to your filaments. Sized for 28mm, 32mm, or whatever you play.
Bambu Lab Integration
Connects straight to your Bambu Lab printer. Pick a model, hit print — it handles slicer settings, color mapping, and AMS slot assignment.
Game System Presets
Built-in presets for D&D, Warhammer, Pathfinder, and more. Automatically sized and styled for your favorite games.
Modular Design
Every piece snaps together. Dungeon crawl on Tuesday, open battlefield on Saturday — same tiles, different layout.
Print Optimization
Models are automatically optimized for FDM printing. Minimal supports, smart orientation, and material-efficient designs.
Community Library
Browse thousands of community-created terrain pieces. Share your designs, remix what others built, and never start from scratch.
Terrain Printed by Our Community
Real terrain pieces created by our AI and printed by users in the beta program.
Loved by Tabletop Gamers
What beta testers are saying.
"I used to spend entire weekends prepping terrain for D&D. Now I describe what I need and it's printing in ten minutes."
"The Bambu Lab integration just works. I describe what I want, hit print, and come back to perfect terrain every time."
"The AI understands exactly what I need. I asked for a "spooky cemetery with tilted gravestones" and it nailed it."

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about AI terrain generation and multi-color 3D printing.
What is Terrain Builder?
Terrain Builder is an AI-powered web application that generates 3D printable terrain for tabletop games like D&D and Warhammer. You describe your terrain in plain English, and the AI creates multi-color, print-ready STL and 3MF files optimized for your specific 3D printer and filament colors.
How does AI terrain generation work?
AI terrain generation works in three steps: you describe the terrain you want, the AI generates a 4-color preview matched to your loaded filaments, and then it produces a print-ready 3D model with automatic mesh repair and color assignment. The entire process takes under two minutes.
What 3D printers work with Terrain Builder?
Terrain Builder works with any FDM 3D printer that can print STL or 3MF files. For the best multi-color experience, we recommend Bambu Lab printers with the AMS (Automatic Material System), including the X1 Carbon, P1S, P1P, A1, and A1 Mini. Direct Bambu Lab Cloud integration lets us read your loaded filament colors automatically.
Do I need to paint 3D printed terrain from Terrain Builder?
No painting required. Terrain Builder generates multi-color terrain using your printer's 4-filament AMS system, so pieces come off the print bed with color already applied. The AI assigns colors semantically — structure, accents, weathering, and shadows — so results look intentional, not random.
What tabletop games does Terrain Builder support?
Terrain Builder supports all tabletop miniature games including Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer 40K, Age of Sigmar, Pathfinder, Star Wars: Legion, Bolt Action, and more. Built-in game system presets automatically size and style terrain for your specific game's scale and aesthetic.
How does 4-color multi-material printing work?
Multi-material printing uses Bambu Lab's AMS to automatically swap between 4 filament colors during a single print. Terrain Builder's AI uses K-means clustering and semantic segmentation to intelligently assign your specific filament colors to different terrain regions — stone, metal, weathering, and shadows — producing painted-looking results with zero post-processing.
Is Terrain Builder free?
Terrain Builder offers a free tier with token-based terrain generation. You can create terrain at no cost with a limited number of generations per month. Premium plans with additional tokens and features will be available at launch. Join the waitlist now for early access and a lifetime discount.
What is OpenLOCK terrain?
OpenLOCK is a modular terrain connection system that lets you snap terrain pieces together like building blocks. All Terrain Builder output is OpenLOCK compatible, meaning every dungeon tile, wall section, and scatter piece connects with other OpenLOCK terrain so you can rearrange layouts between sessions without buying new pieces.
